2014 | Review

How have we come to the end of 2014 already? I remember sitting down last year and writing a post on my goals for the year. This year has been full of ups and downs, I graduated, began a very happy relationship, moved back home, started a masters and sadly lost loved ones. Whilst it hasn't all been happy memories I do have some momentous occasions to look back on, but how did I get on with the goals I set myself?

1./Graduate with a 2.1 or a 1st
I remember so clearly writing this goal last year and wanting to achieve a 1st in my degree so badly, but believing it was impossible as my grades hadn't been so good in my second year. However, I said that I wouldn't give up hope and that I would continue to work hard and that is what I did, so in July I was so proud to graduate from the University of East Anglia with a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology.

2./Decide what to do next year
This time last year, my head was all over the place as to what I was going to do once I finished university. I liked the idea of a masters in forensic psychology, but wasn't sure I could cope with the workload so I also thought about travelling or going into the beauty industry. A year later and I'm 1/3 of the way through a masters in forensic psychology, Although I achieved this goal, I'm still having doubts about it as the course is a lot of work and I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would. Having said that, I know I made the right decision because if I hadn't taken this course, I'd always wonder 'what if?' and I think I'd regret it.

3./Get another piercing
I think this is the only goal I didn't manage to achieve. So many times I went near piercing shops and even enquired about prices, but I always found something better to spend my money on. I still want another piercing in my ear, possibly my cartilage, but I've still yet to get it done.

4,/Watch Titanic
I FINALLY got round to watching this film after having had it on DVD for about 5 years. I watched it one evening with Emil when I was still living in Norwich. I think it was the perfect time to watch it as we weren't together and so it'll always remind me of that exciting time in our lives as we were beginning to get to know each other.

5./Get more involved in blogging
I like to think I've achieved this one. Although I'm still not in the place where I want to be with my blog, I've done a lot better this year. I completely changed the design, which I'm really pleased with, I've joined Bloglovin and I've started publishing my posts on social media sites. There is still a long way to go, but I know it all takes time and I just have to learn to be patient with it.

I think I've done pretty well with most of my goals this year, I'll be posting my goals for 2015 soon, so keep an eye out for that post.

  1. Awww loved the part about you achieving a first in your degree! I get really demotivated at times as I feel it is really tough, but this has renewed my resolve to study hard and get that first!

    1. Thank you(: Definitely stay motivated as I know how easy it is to get distracted, but it's so worth it when you succeed, not much beats the feeling of achieving a first! Good luck with all your studies! Abi x
