Christmas Beauty Haul

Saturday, 10 January 2015

Christmas seems like months ago now, but I've been so busy lately, that I haven't had time to publish this post. However, I was very lucky to receive some lovely beauty bits from my family and friends for Christmas and I thought I'd share with you what I got.

1./Revolution - Redemption Palette Iconic 2
Amongst all my university friends we did secret Santa, which always ends up not being so secret! We set a price limit of £5, which is very hard to buy much for, but I received this gorgeous eye shadow palette from my friend Loren. She knows how much I love the Urban Decay naked palettes and the only one I don't have is naked 2, so she bought me the Iconic 2 palette from Revolution which is a complete dupe of the naked 2. Although not as pigmented, the shades are beautiful and great for an everyday make up look. Thank you Loren!

2./Soap & Glory - Glow All Out
From one of my oldest and closest friends, Sarah, I received this beautiful highlighter from Soap & Glory, I'm pretty new to this brand in terms of their make up as I've only tried the Supercat Eyeliner, but I absolutely love it. Every year we go to Midnight Mass together and have this tradition in which we give each other presents after the service as our first presents of the year on Christmas day, it's so special to me and I always look forward to it. Not only that, but she always knows just what to get me and this year was no different, this highlighter is perfect, it gives a lovely glow to your cheekbone without being too shiny. I'll definitely be repurchasing it once I've used it all up.

3./Soap & Glory - Supercat Eyeliner
Also from Sarah, I received this eye liner which I fell in love with a few months ago, I won't go into too much detail about it as I mentioned it in my December Favourites, but I'm still loving it! The fact that Sarah bought it for me just shows how well she knows me and it saves me from having to buy a new one for a while because I can't see me falling out of love with it any time soon. Thank you Sarah!

4./MAC -  Eye Shadow - Omega and White Frost
From my brother I received these two eye shadows. Every year we write a list of the things we would like for Christmas and these were on my list this year. Although these eye shadows are pretty boring, they are part of my everyday make up routine. I like to use Omega to fill in my eyebrows with an angled brush and White Frost I use as a base colour on nights out, I use both of them so often, that I was running really low and had to eke them out and hope that I received them for Christmas, so thank you Ben!

5./MAC - Lipstick - Rebel
Also from my brother I received this lipstick (sibling points!). I won't go into too much detail about it as I'm sure every beauty addict/blogger has owned this product at some point in their life! I was introduced to it last year by my friend Harriette when she leant it to me on a night out at uni, I instantly fell in love with it and try to buy one for myself, but pretty much every MAC store at the time had sold out of it! Since then I'd seen it all over Bloglovin, but had never got round to purchasing one for myself, so you can imagine how pleased I was when I opened it on Christmas day - best brother ever!

6./Real Techniques - Blusher Brush
Last year, I was lucky enough to receive a whole collection of brushes from Real Techniques as I received the Core Collection and the Starter Set and whilst I've been adding to my collection over the year, I had yet to buy myself the Blusher Brush. I was fortunate to receive it in my stocking from my parents and have used it every day since. It is so soft and applies the blusher so well that I can't believe I waited this long to get it, an absolute essential in my make up bag now!

So they were some of the beauty products that I was lucky enough to receive this Christmas, what did you receive for Christmas? Let me know in the comments below. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a very happy new year!

  1. I love the supercat eyeliner. It does have the tendency to smudge every now and then. But is great at creating feline flicks. Emily x
