2015 | Review

Monday, 28 December 2015

2015 has been a really full on year. I had two amazing holidays; one to New York and the other to Turkey with Emil. I managed to complete my masters in forensic psychology with a distinction, Emil moved to London and I started my first ever full time job. However, I've had some not so good times too as my nan hasn't enjoyed the best of health this year, which proved really difficult as she lives 150 miles away, as well as the stress of writing two dissertations and other family issues, however, whilst I look back on 2015 with mixed emotions, I'm feeling really positive for 2016.

For the past few years, I've set myself some goals to try and achieve throughout the year. I always think it's good to have something to work towards. So how did I do with achieving the goals I set myself for 2015? (Click here to read the original post).

1./Complete my Masters
I did it!! I completed my masters! I remember sitting and writing my post last year thinking there was no way I'd ever finish my masters, I really couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, I persevered and by some miracle I managed to graduate with a distinction. Graduating from Canterbury Cathedral is an experience I'll never forget.

2./Start my Career
I remember feeling so lost last year, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, whilst I was studying for a masters in forensic psychology, I knew that wasn't the path I wanted to take. However, I have now landed myself my dream job! As I was studying for my masters, I realised it was the research side of things that I really enjoyed and so I started looking at working in Market Research. I applied for a few jobs and was very lucky to be offered the first one I interviewed for. Having been there for about 4 months now, I absolutely love it! My team are so lovely and I really do enjoy the work I do. It's sooo nice to finally have a routine in my life.

3./Move Out
I didn't quite achieve this one - I'm still living at home as it just hasn't been possible for me to move out. I don't have the money at the moment, however, I'm definitely hoping to achieve this goal next year!

4./Do more consistent exercise
I have partially achieved this one. I bought a HIT training exercise DVD in February and got really good at doing it 2-3 times a week. However, since starting my new job, I have let it slip a bit as I'm so busy and when I do come straight home from work, I'm just too tired. Having said that, I have managed to keep it up about once a week.

5./Get 100 Followers on Bloglovin
I haven't quite achieved this one either. My blog has definitely taken a bit of a back seat over the past few months. I've just been so busy with work and then when I'm not working, I don't really fancy sitting at another computer so I definitely haven't put the effort in that I should have, but hey I guess that's what happens when you become a full time city worker! It's definitely something I still want to work towards.

Do you set any goals? If you do, let me know how you got on this year.
