Holiday Skincare

Sunday, 10 July 2016

I've recently got back from Portugal and when I'm on holiday I tend to use a slightly different skincare routine as I don't always have space for full sized bottles and with the sun, it's important to keep your skin protected and hydrated.

I've used this sun cream for a few years now and have definitely featured this in previous blog posts. As the name suggests, it's an oil free facial sun cream. I hate the thought of putting sun cream on my face as it's so thick and greasy, I can almost feel my pores clogging up, so this is a great alternative. It's very light, nicely fragranced and most importantly, keeps your skin protected without clogging up your pores. At £39.30, it's definitley on the pricier side, but I can't recommend it enough.

Although I don't use this Cleansing Gel on a daily basis, this handy travel size bottle I have was perfect to take away with me. I love this product, it gently removes impurities in the skin without drying out the skin which is ideal for holiday. I tended to only use this at night when I was removing my make up.

I have the handy travel size version of this, so it's perfect to take on holiday. It's so refreshing to use at the end of the day to remove make up after a night out and is so gentle that it doesn't sting if you manage to burn your face slightly (which definitely didn't happen to me!)

It wouldn't be a skincare post without me mentioning The Body Shop at least once! I received this small travel sized version of the moisture cream in my advent calendar at the end of last year (check out my blog post on it here). Whilst on holiday, I didn't moisturise in the mornings, I used the Dermalogica sun cream instead. However, we went out every night for dinner / drinks so I'd apply this before we went out. It's so light and refreshing that it was lovely to apply after a day in the sun.

Again, I received this in my advent calendar last year and as with the day cream, it's such a handy size to take away. I'd apply this every night before I went to bed and it was so hydrating on my skin. I find my skin, especially on my face, can really suffer in the sun and dry out, however, this cream was great at restoring the moisture back into my skin.

If you've followed my blog for a little while, you'll know how much I swear by Sudocrem, so I couldn't not take it away with me. With lots of holiday snaps being taken and not much make up being worn during the day, I didn't want to risk any breakouts so I took this as a precautionary measure to apply to any spots that appeared, in the hope of getting rid of them as quickly as possible. If you want to know more about how I use Sudocrem read my full review of this product.
