Jack Wills Wool & Whiskey Night

Sunday, 22 October 2017

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to the Jack Wills Wool & Whiskey Night to celebrate the launch of their AW17 collection at their Soho store. As someone who never turns down the opportunity to preview the latest fashion trends, I was super excited to go. The night started with a brief overview of some of the whiskies on offer and whilst I'm not a huge whiskey drinker, I had a little sample of one to get me into the spirit (pun intended!) of the evening. As I was sipping away, I started chatting to some fellow bloggers and it was so lovely to meet them. It's not very often that I get the opportunity to meet with others in the blogging community, so we spent ages chatting and enjoying the whiskey and prosecco on offer!

We then took a walk around the store, which is so beautifully decorated. Upstairs, they have neon lights which are a lovely contrast to the rustic feel of the rest of the shop. In their womenswear section, there was an old punch bag and boxing gloves, then downstairs they have 'The Den' and fitting rooms, which is full of up-cycled chairs and tables, with chesterfield sofas and an old record player. The room was lit by copper lamps - a bloggers dream! I love stores that take an interest in the look and feel of their shop, rather than just focus on the clothing. I think it adds real character to a brand.

With their latest range, Jack Wills are celebrating British wool and their AW17 collection only contains wool from Britain. The UK has over 60 different breeds of sheep, which is more than any other country. One sheep creates enough wool for 3 suits and so it was lovely to browse their latest pieces and see the use of natural wool. Also, they had decorated the store with lots of little sheep, which were super cute and I definitely fell in love with them!

I was really impressed with a lot of the pieces in the Jack Wills AW17 collection - I could definitely have spent a lot of money in there that night. In particular, I had my eye on some of their jackets and I think they would be perfect for Autumn time. It was so nice to be able to share the evening with fellow bloggers and to get their views on the new pieces. We then finished off the night with a trip to Wagamama - an old favourite.

I had such a lovely evening at the Wool & Whiskey Night as part of Wool Week and The Campaign for Wool. A huge thank you to Jack Wills for inviting me, I'll definitely be going back into store soon to pick up some items from the range.
