Products I’ve Bought as a Result of Blogging

Sunday, 25 February 2018

As a beauty lover, I’ve always been interested in trying new products and experimenting with different looks. However, since blogging, my beauty collection has grown rapidly as I’m keen to try out the latest trends and products that fellow bloggers have reviewed or shared. There’s a few products that I’ve bought that I never would have bought otherwise (or at least that's what I tell myself!) - blogging definitely isn't good for my bank account!

This palette has featured so many times on my blog and has become a firm favourite. My love for the Urban Decay Naked palettes have definitely stemmed from blogging. Everyone was raving about the Naked Heat palette before it even came out and I couldn’t help but jump on the band wagon.

Until I started blogging, BECCA wasn’t a brand I was really familiar with. However, I soon came to admire the products and was really keen to get my hands on a highlighter palette as they’re so beautiful. I then saw the collaboration with Chrissy Tiegen and couldn’t resist. I bought the BECCA X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette in America last year and I’m so glad I did, it’s such a gorgeous palette and is so incredibly pigmented, I love it.

I’d been using the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder for some years and really liked it, but  as a poor student, I couldn’t afford the Benefit Hoola Bronzer that everyone raved about. Eventually I gave in, eager to see what all the hype was about and purchased it. I’ve not looked back since and repurchased it several times. I love the pigmentation, I love how it suits my skin tone and I love that it’s matte as I also use it to contour - a multi purpose product - what’s not to love?

I’ve spoken about the this quite a bit on my blog lately, so I won’t go on too much. However, this is an interesting one because I’d heard so many good things about the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and yet I’ve been so disappointed by it (find out why here). It just goes to show that just because everyone raves about a product, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s right for you - I've definitely learnt my lesson with this!

I’d never really invested in a foundation because I have quite high expectations from a foundation and worried that if it didn’t meet them, I’d feel like I'd wasted my money. Eventually, I gave in after hearing nothing but good views about the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless foundation and I must admit, I’ve been very impressed, I love it!

Having been an avid lover of the cheap and cheerful Collection Long Lasting Perfection Concealer, I was reluctant to splash out on a more high end concealer. That was until I heard about the Naked  Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer from Urban Decay and I just knew I had to try it. It hasn’t disappointed and I love it, such high coverage and such a large shade range, it’s amazing.

When NYX first launched in the UK, every beauty lover went crazy, including me. However, I held off purchasing anything, instead preferring to see if it was worth the hype. I soon found out that everyone was raving about it and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the famous liquid suede cream lipsticks that everyone was going crazy for. I bought 07 Sandstorm and have since bought others, I love them, such good value for money with such good colour payoff.

I’d be lying if I said these were the only products I’ve been influenced to buy as a result of blogging, but they’re a few that definitely stick in my mind and ones I’m not sure I’d have bought without influence from the blogging community. What have you bought as a result of blogging?
