My Summer Essentials

Sunday, 15 June 2014

I've finally left University and am now back home with my parents, so this means one thing - summer has officially started for me. Also, it marks the start of my pledge to start blogging more frequently. I thought I would start by sharing 5 of my summer essentials with you as the weather has been so beautiful lately.

1./ Dermalogica - Oil Free Matte Sunscreen
Everyone knows that in the sun you should wear suncream and being fair, I always burn so easily and am forever applying  factor 30 to my skin. However, I hate the feel of suncream on my face as it is really oily and can often cause me to break out in a few spots. That is why I am so pleased that I came across this product from dermalogica, it is so light on the skin and doesn't leave it feeling oily at all, plus it stops me from burning. This can always be found in my bag during the summer months!

2./ The Body Shop - Mango Body Butter
It wouldn't be a beauty blog post of mine if I didn't mention a product from The Body Shop - I am still absolutely obsessed with it. This mango body butter is perfect for the summer months, it smells so refreshing and leaves your skin feeling silky and soft. I apply a lot of body butter in the summer to maintain what little tan I achieve and to also keep my body moisturised as it's a lot more exposed at this time of year. I know The Body Shop do a range of body butters, so even if you're not a fan of mango, there is plenty of others to choose from.

3./ The Body Shop - Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion
Again, another product from The Body Shop (this is the last one, I promise), but I couldn't miss this out. I have a bit of a phobia of feet so it seems quite weird to be writing about a foot cream and slightly gross, but this product is absolutely amazing. If you've been out all day and it's been really hot, your feet can often feel really gross and hot, this cream is perfect, it's so refreshing and cooling on your feet. I often use it when I've been on my feet all day or I've worn heels on a night out - it's absolute bliss.

4./ Toni & Guy - Sea Salt Texturising Spray
I have dead straight, life-less hair which is so boring and I often get fed up with it, especially when I see others with really lovely beach tousled hair. However, this product from Toni & Guy gives my hair a lot more texture and gives me that 'I've just been on the beach' hair look which I absolutely love. It's my 'go to' product when I'm rushing out of the house and don't have much time to do anything to my hair, it adds volume and texture making my hair look a little less boring!

5./ Marc Jacobs - Daisy Eau So Fresh
I love the summer because you can wear some really pretty, light perfumes which aren't always suitable for the winter and this perfume is one of them. I know Marc Jacobs have a whole range of Daisy perfumes, but this is my favourite one for the summer. It smells sooo good and the bottle is so pretty - what's not to love?

Let me know in the comments if you have any Summer essentials.
