Things That Made Me Happy | September #4

Sunday, 28 September 2014

I can't believe we're now at the end of September - where has this month gone?! Again, this week was another really busy one for me (no surprises!), but now that I'm about to start university again, hopefully I'll have more structure in my life and it will be less crazy! However, I still had plenty to be happy about this week.

I had a friend over in the evening which was really lovely as we ordered domino's pizza, had a few drinks and watched a chick flick. It was so nice to relax and chill after a busy day at work.

Having done a lot of 9-5 shifts lately, it was nice not to have to start until 11, which meant that I got a really lovely lie in!

I went to Kent for my first induction day. It was great to meet people who would be on my course and to gain an insight into what this next year entails. I stayed with a friend I went to UEA with as she too is studying forensic psychology. In the evening we went out with her flat to a bar/club on campus and had such a great night. It was great to go on a uni night out again as they are so different to just going out at home.

Thursday was a difficult day for me, not only because I was really hungover, but also because I had a full on induction day specifically aimed at forensic psychology students. I was really overwhelemed with the amount of work that I will face this next year and am really beginning to question the path I've chosen to take. Even after this year, I will have a lot more studying to do in order to get to where I want to be and even then, I'm not sure it's truly what I want. Nevertheless, it was good to meet the lecturers and it really made me appreciate how well I had done to get to where I am now.

Work was really busy which was good as the day just flew by. It was nice to be back doing something that I felt confident about, unlike Thursday where I felt like I was drowning in information.

It was the freshers welcome prom at UEA on Saturday night and seeing as we're still utterly in love with the place, Becca and I went back up to Norwich for it. We were staying with our old housemate Emine and so, the three of went shopping for outfits and then out for dinner. In the evening, we went to the welcome prom and I had the best night I've had in such a long time.

As we were all feeling a bit delicate from the night before, we went out for brunch at my favourite place - Cafe No.33. I'm never going to get bored of that place. As usual, it was really sad leaving Norwich, but I'm looking forward to starting my masters tomorrow.

So that's the end of the series 'Things That Made Me Happy | September'. I hope you enjoyed reading it, I really enjoyed writing this style of blog post as it challenged me to appreciate the small things that make me happy and often, they get over looked.
