If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll know about my love/hate relationship with foundation; I'm yet to find one that I absolutely love and am forever trying out new ones. Also, I prefer to wear a BB cream on a daily basis as I find it less heavy on my skin, however, I do like to wear foundation occasionally and especially for nights out. When I first saw Maybelline had brought out the Dream Flawless Nude Foundation, I swatched it and I was a bit concerned that the consistency was too thin and liquidy. However, a couple of weeks ago I was on the hunt for a new foundation and thought I'd give it a try so I purchased one in the shade Nude, annoyingly at the time I'd just come back from holiday and so had a bit of a tan, so now it's a little darker for me than I would have liked, but if I only use a small amount it's not too bad. So what do I think of it?
1./Consistency
The consistency isn't one that I thought I would like to start with. It's a liquid foundation and is a lot thinner than any I had ever used before, I wasn't sure how I would get on with it. However, because it's a liquid, it is really easy to blend and leaves a real flawless finish - like it says on the tin! Also, it means it's super lightweight on the face and so I barely notice I'm wearing it, unlike some heavier foundations.
2./Coverage
I am really impressed with the coverage, as at first I wasn't sure how good the coverage of a liquid foundation would be as I often think they're too thin to actually cover anything. As I mentioned earlier, I'm only using a small amount at a time, due to the colour difference, but despite this it still has a really good coverage and gets rid of all my blemishes and redness. It blends so well and I love the finish it leaves. It's in between a dewy and matte finish which is perfect for me.
3./Price
It only costs £5.99 which I think is absolutely incredible for this quality of foundation, other drug store foundations that I have used typically range from £7-£10 and not all of them are as good quality as this one.
4./Packaging
This is the only downfall for me. Although it comes in a cute glass bottle it has a tear drop applicator which I'm really not used to. I wasn't sure how to use it at first and if I'm perfectly honest, I rarely use it now. I tend to just pour the foundation straight from the bottle onto the back of my hand, which takes great concentration otherwise I end up with too much product running across my hand!
I have been really impressed with this foundation so far. As I mentioned, I wish it had a better applicator as it is a rather runny product, however, I can't doubt that it does what it says on the tin and as it is so easy to blend, it leaves a real flawless finish which I can't fault.
