I recently received the Boots Essentials Cucumber Facial Scrub as a free gift from an O2 priority code and as someone who never turns down free stuff, I was keen to give it a try, plus you can never have too much Skincare right?
I was a bit skeptical about it as I don't know how effective Boots Essentials products are. As with all their range, it comes in very simple packaging which does look a little 'cheap'. The product itself is quite a harsh scrub to what I'm used to, so I did feel like I was scratching the skin off my face, which I guess is essentially the case, but I was worried I'd be left with a really red blotchy face. That, luckily, wasn't the case!
It's lightly fragranced with cucumber which is really refreshing on the skin, however, I found it quite difficult to wash all the beads off my face and when I went to moisturise afterwards I found I still had some of the beads left on my face. Having said that, it did leave my skin feeling really soft and smooth afterwards, especially after I'd applied a moisturiser.
Would I go out and buy this in the future? Probably not. Whilst at £1.50, it's a really cheap face scrub, it's just a little too harsh for me and I'd prefer to use a slightly softer one.
Have you tried the Boots Essentials Facial Scrub? What are your thoughts?
I'm glad that you were able to get it for free to try it but it's a shame that it was a little too harsh for you. Also it's quite strange that it was hard to wash all the beads off considering that should be the easy part. Thanks for sharing this! (:
