Autumn Fashion Picks

Friday, 24 November 2017

Autumn is by far my favourite time of the year and one of the main reasons for that is because I love Autumn fashion. I find it so much easier to style than any other season and love dressing outfits up with jackets / scarves / hats etc, so I thought I'd share a few of my Autumn picks that I'll be wearing this season.

Dress: TOBI Kailee Black Skater Dress
Boots: H&M Ankle Boots (similar)
Bag: Primark
I love this dress from TOBI as it's perfect to dress up or down in the Autumn. I'm a huge fan of a skater dress as I think it suits my figure well and I love the 'criss-cross' detailing on the waist of the dress, it breaks up the more 'formal' look of the shirt dress. I decided to pair it with my ankle boots from H&M which I find really comfy and I think it makes for a perfect outfit for going out for dinner or out for a night out. I completed the look with my small over the should bag from Primark which I've had for some years, but it's perfect to pop a few things in before I head out.

I've wanted a T Shirt dress for ages, but wasn't sure whether or not it would suit my figure. When I saw this camo dress from TOBI I really loved it, but I wasn't sure what it would look like on and it was definitely out of my comfort zone. However, when I tried it, I instantly fell in love. Again, I think this can be worn smart or more casual, but decided to go for a more casual look for this outfit and teamed it with my Vans. Also, I decided to wear it with my Miss Selfridge faux leather jacket as I think it really adds to the look. Finally, I finished the outfit with my Longchamp La Pilage Large Shopper bag as this literally goes everywhere with me and is the perfect size to chuck everything in.

Jumper: TOBI Getting Warmer Grey Sweater
Shoes: Converse All Star Hi Optical White
One of the things I love most about this time of year is the jumpers as they're so comfy and so easy to throw on with any outfit. This one from TOBI is one of my favourites because I love the detailing on the back, it really 'jazzes' up the look of a more plain jumper. I just thew this on with a pair of black skinny jeans and completed my look with my Converse which I love. This outfit is so simple, but I love how it looks.

What are your autumn fashion picks?

Palmer's Zero Break Hair Care | Review

Wednesday, 8 November 2017

I recently reviewed the Palmer's Coconut Hair Care and explained how much I loved it (check out the full review here). Having never tried any of the range before, I was excited when I was offered the chance to also try the Palmer's Zero Breakage range. I have quite thin hair and so it is prone to breaking. It’s not something that has been a huge concern of mine, but if I can prevent it, then that’s great.

Healthy hair has ceramides which help support the structure of the hair cuticle. However, various factors such as styling and the environment can lead to fewer ceramides which makes the hair coarse and dry. Palmer's Zero Breakage Range contains hydro-ceramides which help replenish the natural lipids of the hair cuticle. This strengthens the hair and reduces damage, breakage and splitting. All ingredients in the Palmer’s Zero Breakage range are ethically and sustainably sourced which is becoming ever important to me.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been using the Palmer's Zero Breakage Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Reconstructor which I spray onto damp hair. At first, it took a little while to get used to using an oil based shampoo as to me this doesn’t seem instinctively right as I wash my hair to prevent having oily hair. However, once I got over that, I did really enjoy using the products. The Shampoo and Conditioner feel really nice on my hair and after having applied them, I spray the Palmer’s Zero Breakage Reconstructor onto damp hair and then continue styling my hair. The 2 in 1 formula helps improve the visible signs of hair damage whilst providing a protective barriers against external factors that weaken hair.

As with the Palmer’s Coconut Hair Care range, the Zero Breakage range smells incredible, it leaves my hair feeling clean and smelling lovely! If you’re looking for products that help protect the hair against damage and help to strengthen hair, I really do recommend this range.

October Favourites

Wednesday, 1 November 2017

Somehow we're not at the end of October, I feel like I blinked and this month has totally disappeared. October through to December is my favourite time of the year and so I hate how quickly it's going. This month has been a bit of a crazy one for me as work is super busy, but I thought I'd share with you a few of the things I've been loving this month.

I recently reviewed the Estée Lauder Double Wear so I won't go into too much detail about it, but I've fallen in love with this foundation this month. It provides such a high coverage without being too heavy on my skin. I love that it comes in such a large array of shades which means that it's suitable for so many different skin tones. I've been reaching for this foundation so much more than any other this month, I love it!

Until recently, I'd never used a CC cream and didn't really know too much about their benefits. Instead I stuck to a trusted BB cream the I loved. If you've followed my blog for a while you'll know that I don't like to wear foundation on a daily basis as I find them too much and my skin doesn't like it. Therefore, when my friend recommended trying a CC cream, I was really intrigued and went into Boots to see what I could find. I came across the Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting cream and thought it was worth a try. Considering I bought it on a bit of a whim, I've absolutely been loving it. The coverage is really good, though obviously not as high as a foundation, but my skin is really grateful for that. Whilst it doesn't last all day, it is much better than any BB cream I've used, it's really easy to apply and blends so well. Annoyingly there are only two shades, but fortunately for me, one of the lightest shade 'Ivory' is perfect for my skin tone, it's so good a correcting all the redness on my face. I'm definitely going to be repurchasing another one as I've been so impressed.

Last month, I was in The Body Shop and they had a 3 for 2 offer on their skincare and as I needed two skincare products, I thought it was only right that I got a third for free! I came across the Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion and was really intrigued by it so thought it was worth a try. I apply this as a base to help prevent any oiliness throughout the day. I have combination skin and so I do have oily areas of skin and this is perfect at matifying that without causing any breakouts. The Tea Tree range at The Body Shop is designed for blemished skin and whilst my skin isn't too bad at the moment, I like the Tea Tree range as I know that it won't cause any breakouts. I like to use the Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion during the week underneath my CC cream and it's great at holding my make up in place for longer. I've been really impressed!

I don't need to go into too much detail about this product as everyone seems to be loving it at the moment, I also did a full review which you can check out here. However, what I will say is that I've been really loving this cleanser this month. It's great at removing my make-up and leaves my skin feeling really clean. I've really fallen in love with it!

I was recently in America and knew I had to get my hands on a Bath & Body Works candles as I'd heard such good things about them. Once in store, I spent ages smelling all the different candles trying to decide which one to get (much to my boyfriends dismay). Eventually, I settled on 'Leaves' as it's literally Autumn in a candle and I absolutely love it! It's really scented and there's no mistaking once you've lit it! I've been burning it so much this month and my flat has smelt incredible!

So that's everything I've been loving this October, I'd love to know what you've been loving!
